Global Conversations Beyond Discipline

The Omniloquence community is based around Flinders University’s School of History and International Relations. However, we also welcome submissions from anyone outside this group who wishes to contribute. Submissions can be in the form of:

  • Opinion pieces
  • Book/Article Reviews
  • Photo essays
  • And anything else you think our readers might find interesting.

All content must be original. Contributions must be sent to the Managing Editor at

Posts should follow the guidelines laid out below:

  • Posts should be submitted as a Word document with minimal formatting.
  • Submissions should not exceed 1000 words (though exceptions can be made).
  • If needed, provide references in the form of footnotes or hyperlinks.
  • Each post will be accompanied by a title, an abstract and possibly pictures or images (subject to copyright permissions).
  • Pictures should be submitted as separate files and not embedded in the Word document
  • Please post a brief statement/by-line at the end of the post explaining who you are.
  • Contributions will be attributed to individuals and not an organisation. Submissions will be published under your own name.

All points of view are welcome but we will not publish anything that may be deemed offensive. In order to ensure minimum standards are met, your submission will be reviewed by our executive editors before being published. Please also be aware of the following:

  • The Editorial team will either: accept your submission, accept but require you to make some revisions, or decline your submission.
  • We may edit your post but changes will be minor e.g. correcting grammar.
  • If English is your second language and if deemed necessary, your submission will be forwarded to our ESL editor who will work with you to improve the legibility of the written English.
  • Once a contribution has been accepted an approximate publication date will be advised. We envisage a maximum of eight weeks between final acceptance and publication unless otherwise negotiated between the Managing Editor and the author.

The Omniloquence community looks forward to your contributions.
